As noted at the 16 April 2025 Board of Directors meeting, we had an incident in the community with an uninsured Golf Cart with supposed personal injury.  This issue has turned into a legal issue with NLYH as their ambulance chaser attorney attempted to blame NLYH since we own the property.  Apparently, we had an incident years ago and our insurance company was under the impression that we require all golf carts to have liability insurance.  Unfortunately, that requirement was never implemented.

As a result, we canvassed several similar communities in our area and spoke with other insurance brokers and all other communities require liability insurance.

To compound our concerns, with the recent introduction of lithium battery golf carts, a lithium battery immersed in salt water creates a blow torch which could jeopardize our entire community if such a Golf Cart were left behind during a mandatory evacuation when fire and rescue do not respond.  This could result in our community being completely burnt down.
